To speed
forming and save time and money, contractors for
this residential home chose Insul-Deck for their hip roof with a scalloped or bermuda roof design. Insul-Deck is the fast,
lightweight, forming-system solution for concrete
floor and roof construction. It comes pre-engineered,
pre-cut, pre-labeled and staged for quick and easy
placement on site.
The hip roof was first built and poured with a rough finish, then a few days later a stucco step finish was added by using 2x4s to strike off the stucco, which produces the sloped steps. The craftsmen use the same boards they use to do edges around windows and building corners. Insul-Deck is the fast, flexible and safe method to build a concrete floor or roof that saves labor, time and money. Experienced crews are installing panels and rebar support and pouring concrete in one minute per square foot, cutting labor time 30 to 50%. Of course this style will take more time.
When stucco is cured the roof is painted/waterproofed. Insul-Decks patented process integrates utility chases within the forming system, so utilities are easier to install in the pre-molded access channels. If needed, the Expanded Polystyrene can be removed easily to make larger utility runs. |

Insul-Deck offers a variety of insulation and roof or floor thicknesses. Form depths up to 12-1/2 produce deeper supporting ribs which allow spans up to 30 feet with non-post-tension methods. Post-tensioned floors and roofs with Insul-Decks standard forms allow spans up to 40 feet with less depth.
The Expanded Polystyrene material also has excellent insulating properties.
Insul-Decks patented process produces self-supporting, steel beams and furring strips. Any type of interior finish can quickly be mechanically attached to the integral steel furring strips with drywall screws.

No other process is faster form-to-finish than Insul-Deck. Insul-Deck takes just three steps: place, pour and finish. For pre-cast and pan and deck, you need a crane and/or have to remove the forms. With Insul-Deck: you pour it, you finish it - you can take it to the bank. |
